Q&A

  1. How did you start with photo/video?
I love spending time in the nature, it gives me peace of mind and I feel fully recharged when coming home after hours of hiking. I try to remain as unnoticed as possible in the nature and it strikes me over and over again how small we humans really are. Although I keep the rule “take nothing and leave nothing” in mind, I feel that photography allows me to take something with me without really taking anything away.

Before I just had my camera with me when I was hiking, but as photography has become more of a conscious decision for me, nowadays I carry more gear with me. I often get caught up in the moment when trying to capture the scene when an interesting sky or light appears.

  1. How would you describe your style?
Wide angle landscape photography that allows the viewer to get in close with the nature.

  1. What inspires you?
To see unusual moments in the nature. The light. My biggest inspiration is nature itself. I know that each time I go out to shoot, the moment I will witness will never repeat itself. When I head out to shoot, I always have high expectations, motivation and even kind of an adrenaline rush.

  1. What is your dream shoot or project?
As I like Northern sceneries, my travels have brought me mostly to Scandinavian countries. My favorite time of the year is when fall turns into winter. All different conditions coexist, this time gives the best pictures. Iceland and Northern Norway are certainly at the top of the list for my next destinations. Scotland, Canada and the Arctic climate definitely offer magnificent landscapes.

  1. What is your best advice to others that want to develop as photographers?
The most amazing moments in nature appear at times when most of us are sleeping and in places that most of us never visit. To witness something extraordinary it is important to move out of your comfort zone. To see the beauty of our planet it is important to respect its rhythm and try to follow its lead. It does take effort and you need to push your limits, but it is utterly rewarding.

What is in your bag?

  1. What is the most important in your bag?
Camera body, wide angle lens, filters and tripods. Most important is not to forget any of these essential items.

  1. What bag do you use?
I use an everyday hiking backpack.
