Peak Design Outdoor Backpack 45L
A 45L pack designed for gear-heavy single-day use or light overnight trips, with modular internal organization and compatibility with Peak Design's Packing Tools and Camera Cubes. Suited for anything from a single camera and lens to a full professional kit.
Capacity and access
Volume ranges from 34.5L to 45L via a roll-top Ultra Cinch closure that also allows one-handed access. A large rear panel opens via a weatherproof UltraZip and is designed for loading Camera Cubes directly into the bag. Two small external zippered pockets, each secured with a #5 UltraZip, fit an X-Small or XX-Small Ultralight Packing Cube.
Carry and comfort
Vest-style shoulder straps with breathable perforated foam padding, mesh storage pockets, hidden Capture Clip attachment points, and adjustable shoulder harness length. Load lifter straps for weight balancing. Dual quick-adjusting sternum straps. Three-part spring steel internal frame for back and lumbar support. Padded back panel with center airflow channel and perforated foam padding. Top grab handle. Stowable padded hip belt with zip mesh pocket (right), slip pocket and Capture Clip attachment point (left), dual quick-attach points, and adjustable webbing length. Hip belt and perforated foam padding included.
External storage
Five Flex Pockets for water bottles, trekking poles, tripods, and similar items. Side pockets accommodate long items. Center pocket also functions as a secondary hydration sleeve. Two external carry cords with Cord Hook quick-cinch closures and two elastic gear loops, both made from abrasion-resistant UHMWPE cord. Hidden Cord Rails run the exterior of the bag for near-universal attachment positioning. Compatible with Ultralight Packing Cubes for modular external storage. Carry cords and Cord Rails can also be used to compress the sides of the bag for better load distribution.
Laptop and hydration
Internal hydration sleeve with bladder attachment loop and top hose pass-through. Converts to a laptop sleeve for up to a 16" MacBook Pro. One internal zippered pocket for small valuables. Removable and relocatable key tether.

Material
Primary fabric: Terra Shell 210D ripstop recycled nylon, Bluesign approved, PFAS-free with interior PU coating. Front and bottom panels: Terra Shell 210D ripstop with TPU coating (non-recycled). Functionally weatherproof as standard. Optional Rain Fly available separately for full waterproofing. Spot clean or hand wash only.
