Kite Optics APC 22x50 ED AA
Where a spotting scope requires a tripod, offers only monocular viewing and takes time to set up, the APC 22x50 is ready the moment it reaches the eyes. Observers can track moving subjects, scan terrain and maintain depth perception through binocular vision, all at a magnification previously impractical without stable support.
Kite Optics' proprietary KT 3.0 image stabilization system, powered by the second-generation KDGS-2 gyro sensor platform, compensates for hand tremor in real time with a correction angle of 2 degrees. At 22x, even small movements are amplified significantly, and the stabilization system is what makes this magnification usable without a tripod.
The optical system uses ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements with Kite Optics' MHR Advance+ multi-layer coatings, achieving 86 percent light transmission. Chromatic aberration is effectively minimized across the field, producing a sharp, high-contrast image even at the edges. Field of view is 54 m at 1 000 m.
The APC 22x50 ED AA runs on two standard AA batteries, providing up to 38 hours of stabilized use. AA cells are available virtually everywhere and can be swapped in seconds, with no dependency on charging infrastructure. The body is rated IPX7 waterproof and withstands submersion to one metre depth. Internal optics are nitrogen-filled to prevent fogging. The operating temperature range spans from -20 to +55 degrees Celsius. The APC 22x50 is covered by Kite Optics' 30-year warranty, including the electronic stabilization system.
