Three LEDs run from two 18650 batteries, which are not included, and four CR123A cells can be used instead. The flat body and dual tail switches keep it manageable for a light of this output.
Light and performance
The handheld format gives direct control of the beam and makes the light easy to aim. The mode set covers eight modes: Turbo and Strobe in Tactical mode, and five brightness levels plus Strobe in Duty mode. Three Luminus SST40 LEDs produce the 5000-lumen maximum, and Eco mode runs up to 85 hours when runtime matters more than brightness. It is suitable for a kit bag, vehicle, duty belt or outdoor pack.
Power, handling and durability
It runs on two 18650 rechargeable Li-ion batteries or four CR123A lithium batteries, none of which are included, and it can run on a single 18650 or two CR123A cells in an emergency. The flashlight has no onboard charging port. Note that the ARB-L18-4000U battery is not compatible. The control layout uses a mechanical toggle switch for Tactical, Duty and lockout with instant Strobe activation, so the main functions are easy to reach in normal use. The construction is made for real use, with an A6061-T6 aluminium body, a premium type HAIII hard-anodised finish, and a waterproof, dustproof and impact-resistant build. Useful details include battery level indication and a low voltage warning. For a flashlight, the grip, switching and power setup are important because the light may be used quickly and often.
