The Insta360 Mic (2 TX + 1 RX) is a flexible wireless audio system for two-person interviews, conversations, documentaries and creator productions. Two compact transmitters let each speaker wear their own microphone, while one receiver sends the sound to the camera or another compatible recording device. The included charging case keeps the system organized and extends total operating time to as much as 34 hours.
Two voices, more control in the edit
Each transmitter uses a single omnidirectional microphone with AI noise cancellation and automatic gain control, helping voices remain clear as speakers move and ambient sound changes. Mono mode can combine both microphones, while stereo mode places the two transmitters on separate channels for more control over speaker levels during editing.
The 1.22-inch six-colour E-Ink display on each transmitter can show custom graphics or speaker identifiers through the Insta360 app. Included back clips and button magnets offer straightforward mounting on shirts or jackets, keeping both microphones close to their speakers.
Wireless recording across multiple devices
The receiver connects to compatible cameras with the included 3.5 mm audio cable and to supported USB-C mobile devices with the supplied adapter. Transmission range is up to 400 m under unobstructed, interference-free test conditions, allowing flexibility when subjects move away from the camera.
Supported Insta360 cameras, including X6, X5, Luna Ultra, Luna Pro, Ace Pro 2 and GO Ultra, allow direct Bluetooth microphone connection without the receiver. The system can also be expanded, with one receiver supporting up to four compatible Insta360 Mic or Mic Pro transmitters. Additional transmitters are sold separately. Direct Bluetooth recording on a phone requires a compatible third-party app rather than the built-in camera app.
microSD backups and longer recording sessions
Each transmitter accepts a separately purchased microSD card for local 24-bit or 32-bit float audio recording. This adds a backup recording independent of the wireless signal and allows greater flexibility when correcting uneven voice levels later. 32-bit float is available for internal recordings only; the transmitters do not have built-in recording memory.
A transmitter lasts up to 13 hours and the receiver up to 11 hours per charge in laboratory test conditions. The included charging case provides additional recharges for up to 34 hours of total operation. A five-minute transmitter charge delivers approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes of use under specified conditions.
