Horia Bogdan is a Romanian nature photographer with a deep-rooted passion for capturing the beauty of the natural world. With a PhD in Zoology, his journey into photography began as a way to document amphibians and reptiles for research. Over time, his focus expanded to landscapes, wildlife, and natural phenomena, aiming to showcase nature’s beauty in its purest form.
A founding member of FORONA (The Romanian Association of Nature Photographers), Horia’s work has gained significant recognition, including the Best Landscape award at the Romanian Visual Awards 2024. He is also a northern lights guide in Tromsø, Norway, leading photography expeditions under the auroras. His current projects include photographing the northern lights from 10 different countries (currently at 7) and documenting century-old trees.
Horia’s approach to photography is true to reality, focusing on capturing dramatic landscapes and nature’s adaptations without excessive post-processing. Whether guiding workshops, sharing insights on social media, or capturing remote landscapes, Horia’s work continues to inspire a deeper appreciation for the natural world.
