Rares Ion is a Romanian photographer and filmmaker whose work is rooted in authenticity and simplicity. His creative journey began with photographing life and nature before leading him into wedding photography, where he discovered his voice in storytelling with a film-look aesthetic, minimal composition, and natural light.
With over 30 weddings published on leading wedding inspiration blogs, Rares has built a reputation for capturing genuine moments in destination and small weddings across borders. Since 2020, his passion expanded into video, driven initially by his YouTube channel and later evolving into hybrid shooting for clients.
A graduate in Sociology, with background in radio, telekom and banking, Rares brings a thoughtful perspective to his craft. His approach is deliberate yet unforced. "Don't take it easy, I had to do it hard until I learned to fly in simplicity," as he puts it. He draws motivation from everyday life, finding inspiration in the world's continuous movement and the stories unfolding around him.
Looking forward, Rares dreams of documenting traditions and life in diverse, authentic traditional communities, capturing backcountry existence and the cultural threads that bind us. His advice to aspiring creators is grounded: believe in your own vision, focus on the highlights but don't fear the shadows. "Crank the ISO, no worries"—a reminder that technical perfection matters less than authentic storytelling.
His message is simple: "I'm just a simple guy gifted with a photographic vision. If I made it, you can do it, too."
